FirKaizen DS is a small independent publication about running your own server — the part that happens after you click “create VPS”.
What this site covers
Practical operating guides for people who manage their own infrastructure: setting up a control panel, keeping nginx and PHP-FPM healthy, making WordPress fast on a small box, scheduling backups that actually restore, and understanding what a hosting bill is really charging for.
Everything here comes from machines we run ourselves. When a guide says a setting behaves a certain way, that is because we changed it and watched what happened.
Who it is for
- Developers and freelancers running client sites on a VPS.
- Small teams with no dedicated sysadmin.
- Anyone who paid for a server and wants to stop guessing.
How we work
Commands are tested before they are published. Where something is version-specific, the version is named in the article. Where a step is destructive, it is marked as destructive and the backup step comes first.
We do not publish “best hosting” lists. Hosting is a tool for the job, not the subject.
What we do not do
- Sell hosting, or act as a reseller for any provider.
- Provide managed support or emergency server recovery.
- Guarantee a command behaves identically on your distribution, panel version, or PHP build.
- Publish paid link insertions disguised as editorial.
